The Hybrid Sport from Simpson features a light-weight design using DuPont® carbon/polymer construction. This construction provides maximum comfort and maneuverability with superior strength. Hybrids come race ready. The low-profile design disappears into the seat when worn, allowing for easy in and out of the race car. This eliminates the danger of becoming caught on other gear. The protection stays with the racer during multiple impact, flips and rolls.
With FIA 8858-2010 certification only they do not require SFI recertification every 5 years. Tether replacements are recommended at 5 year intervals.
The purpose of the Hybrid device is to keep the head from whipping in a crash. This prevents excessive rotational movement as a secondary precaution, without otherwise restricting movement of the neck.
