NPT reducers are used to change the size of an NPT hole to adapt a smaller NPT size. As an example, if you want to screw a electric water temp sender into an intake manifold with a 1/2"NPT hole, use the 912-08-02. This is a 1/2" NPT to 1/8" NPT reducer so the 1/8" sender will screw straight in.
